The Opportunity
We’re currently seeking an AZ Driver who understands the responsibility that comes with hauling equipment and materials across Northern Ontario. In this role, you’ll be trusted to secure loads properly, navigate changing road and site conditions, and support our crews to keep projects moving. It’s a position for someone who works safely, takes ownership of their equipment, and takes pride in being a dependable part of the team.
Your Day-to-Day
- Safely load, secure, transport, and deliver equipment and materials in accordance with Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations and company safety standards
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment and materials at job sites as required
- Perform daily pre and post trip inspections, monitor vehicle fitness and load security, and complete required electronic hours-of-service logs, inspection records, and delivery documentation
- Identify, report, and address hazards while ensuring compliance with all internal, client, and regulatory health and safety policies, including proper use of PPE
- Perform minor equipment maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly
- Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment to coordinate with crews and supervisors
- Maintain clean, organized vehicles and work areas
- Perform physical work including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, climbing, and working in varied weather conditions
- Travel to various job sites across Northern Ontario, including out-of-town assignments with overnight stays as required
- Work evenings and weekends as needed to meet project demands
- Perform other related duties as assigned
You Are a Good Fit If You Have
Required:
- Valid AZ License
- Clean Driver’s Abstract
- Minimum of one (1) year of AZ driving experience
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
Considered an Asset:
- Experience working in the construction, mining, and/or aggregate industries
- Surface Miner Common Core certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of MTO regulations, industry standards, and company safety practices
- Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and clients
- Ability to adapt to changing job requirements and schedules
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic
